The darkness was eerie under the stary, full moon sky. Central park was amazinglyy dark like the bottom of a lake. However, it was not as quite as it would have been.
A small girl, barely nine years old, was fleeing for her life. Her pitch black hair flew behind her and her skirt brushed against her knees. Her face was full of fear, especially her eyes. Her dark blue and amber eyes. Her name was Marie.
The small girl brethed heavily and hard, looking back to see if the creatures were following her. They were. And they were gaining on her fast.
She knew she could easily dissolve into the shadows, but in her paniced mind, she would only travel two feet.
Suddenly, a massive force grabbed her collar and yanked her up. She squealed and thrashed around. It turned her to look into it's horrible gaze. She gasped for air, because this creature was choking her. She tried to use her thin arms to pull away but it was useless. The creature gripped her throat tighter. Her vision began to grow dark. Then she passed out. Her body hung limp in the creatures grip as it started to walk back to his comrades, unaware of a certain other shadow creature behind him.
His name was Shadow.
